What Your Scale Weight Really Means | 047

by | Jun 15, 2020

This morning, I hopped on the scale weighing in at 158.2 pounds.

Then, I stepped off the scale and “made my bladder gladder,” if you know what I mean.

I immediately stepped back on and it’s no small wonder that I weighed less… a lot less.

156.0 pounds to be exact.

I dropped 2.2 whole pounds just like that.

Why should you care about my pee?

You probably shouldn’t.

But you should care about yours.

And more importantly.

This is a lesson on how we perceive our bodyweight.

All too often, I hear people panicking that they’re up a few pounds from yesterday.

I literally just lost 2 pounds from peeing.

That tells you that the daily fluctuations we experience in bodyweight are massively correlated with water gain/loss and the food in our bellies.

Measuring your weight should be looked at like data.

If the trend is up or down over many weeks, you know to adjust accordingly.

Otherwise, just enjoy your pee and stop freaking out about your weight 😉
